The Stage School’s school residency program focuses on developing poise, confidence, and creativity through drama, singing, and dance. Our professional teaching artists guide students in developing core fundamentals and life skills in the performing arts.
The Stage School offers:

After School Workshops

Creative Drama (PK-4 through 2nd grade) In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of drama. Through engaging games and imaginative play, students will develop core skills such as:

  • Speaking in front of an audience
  • Vocal projection  
  • Using their imagination to create a character  
  • Concentration 
  • Team building and cooperation

Acting and Improvisation (2nd grade through 8th grade) Students learn the fundamentals of drama and improvisation through engaging games, scene work, and improvisational exercises. The core skills that will be focused on will be:

  • Proper breathing, vocal projection, and diction  
  • Building a character based on the given circumstances of the script  
  • Learning to use their bodies as an expressive tool 
  • Creating a story using improvisation  
  • Team building and cooperation

Requirements: A classroom space large enough to accommodate the number of students enrolled.

The Stage School provides dynamic after school acting classes for our Plato Academy students. The kids love the playful environment while learning important aspects of being on stage. The staff is friendly and outgoing and the children love coming to class each week!

School Break Residencies

0ne-week, full day residences, designed to be held over school breaks  

Up to fifty (50) students per residency. 

  • Rehearsals take place Monday-Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM  
  • Students present a full musical production for friends and family on Saturday.

The Stage School provides:  

  • Complete coordination of your production from start to finish, including promotional materials, parent communications and archival materials of final performance.  
  • Three (3) professional teaching artists; a drama instructor, a singing instructor, and a dance instructor. 
  • All sets, props and costumes for the students 
  • Sound and lighting packages to supplement existing equipment at the school as needed. 
  • Rights to perform the production, scripts and related rehearsal materials

Requirements: Three (3) separate rehearsal spaces each day. One space must be large enough to accommodate the full cast of 50 students (The stage or a gym works well). The two additional spaces must large enough to accommodate 20 students. A piano is preferred but not required. The performance space must be available for 24 hours before and after the final performance to allow for load in and strike of set, props and costumes.

Two-Week Residencies

Held after school for two (2) consecutive weeks

  • Up to fifty (50) students per residency. 
  • Rehearsals take place Monday-Friday for 2 hours after school.  
  • Students present a full musical production for friends and family on Friday night.

The Stage School provides: 

  • Complete coordination of your production from start to finish, including promotional materials, parent communications and archival materials of final performance. 
  • Three (3) professional teaching artists; a drama instructor, a singing instructor, and a dance instructor. 
  • All sets, props and costumes for the students 
  • Sound and lighting packages to supplement existing equipment at the school as needed. 
  • Rights to perform the production, scripts and related rehearsal materials

Extended Residences

Held After School for Sixteen (16) weeks

  • Up to eighty (80) students per residency. 
  • Rehearsals take place after school.
  • Students present a full musical production for friends and family at the end of program.

  • Two (2) professional teaching artists 
  • All sets, props and costumes for the students  
  • Sound and lighting packages to supplement existing equipment at the school as needed.  
  • Rights to perform the production, scripts and related rehearsal materials

Requirements: Rehearsal spaces to be coordinated with the school based on availability. Two spaces, each large enough to accommodate 25 students necessary for each rehearsal date. A piano is preferred but not required. At least once per week, one space must be large enough to accommodate the full cast. The performance space must be available for 24 hours before and after the final performance to allow for load in and strike of set, props and costumes.

 

Booking Terms 

  • For all programs except After School Workshops a 25% deposit is due at time of booking. 
  • At least 50% of remaining residency fees must be paid by the first day of the program. The remaining balance may be paid at the conclusion of the residency.  
  • Residencies must be booked at least 90 days in advance. 
  • The Stage School reserves the right to adapt or cancel programs if enrollment minimums are not met. In the event of program cancellation, a portion of the deposit (less expenses already incurred) will be refunded.
